5 Reasons for daily brushing of teeth

  1. Brush your teeth with NDA-recommended toothpaste twice a day to keep a healthy mouth and teeth.
  2. Tooth brushing stops plaque from building up on your teeth which causes Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums and the first stage of gum disease).
  3. Regular daily care of your teeth and gums will prevent problems in the future and leave you with lower dental bills.

Brushing Techniques and Recommendation

Nigerian Dental Association recommends you do the following:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes each time.
  • Use a soft-bristled brush. Pick a size and shape that fits your mouth well to make sure it can reach all areas.
  • Replace your toothbrush every three to four months.
  • Use an accepted fluoride toothpaste.
  • Brush your tongue gently to remove bacteria and keep your breath fresh
  • Floss teeth regularly.
  • Brush all surfaces of the teeth (outside, inside, and chewing surfaces)
  • Also regularly visit a dentist when there is any teeth problem.
